Asheville Community Enterprise, LLC (A.C.E.) is in the business of streamlining and managing systems for organizations that provide support to the most vulnerable populations so they can serve, plus more.

The Safe Plus More (SPM) digital application is a managed systems service that can be customized to match the unique needs of varying organizations. Through streamlining; scheduling, emergency protocols, and information dissemination, the SPM app is saving time, staff wellbeing, and money for some of America’s busiest organizations. 

Western North Carolina-based tech company, Asheville Community Enterprises is using innovative software to streamline outreach and communication for businesses who work with individuals struggling with mental health, substance use, homelessness or those in need of emergent support. 

Safe Plus More, is already being used across the South East to streamline communication for its clients. The Safe Plus More digital application works directly with treatment centers, judicial programs, law enforcement + first responders, Churches, Schools, and Community Programs to provide applicable tools to save time, money, and the mental health of those working in challenging situations daily. The digital application is completely customizable for each agency's specific needs, but it focuses on streamlining administration, educational resource distribution, announcements, and emergency processes. Maximizing these offerings within each organization not only saves time, money, and human resources- at the core- it allows the organizations to aid their existing clients (and new ones) better. 

Since social services organizations and their highly dedicated staff is the Safe Plus More applications’ primary demographic the core concept that drives the app is to provide tangible ways to reduce stress and overwhelm for the organizations truly trying to make a difference. 

Rick Baker, an Asheville Community Enterprise partner, and SPM user are strongly aware that the social service industry is constantly overtaxed on all fronts, including human resources. Founding Responder Support Services (RSS) in an effort to combat human overwhelm, Rick created an evidence-based behavioral health program in an effort to provide a broad range of clinical and non-clinical services to first responders, responder agencies, county/local governments, and the federal government. Rick has seen firsthand how the Safe Plus More app gives Responder Support Services an additional platform for communicating with first responders.

Responder Support Services has used the digital app with the Asheville Fire Department since 2019 and has found it to be a highly creative way to connect and share vital information that can be the difference between a successful outcome or not. 

Social Services + Churches + Government programs find programmatic aid and a way to help more people in need! 

Brown Temple Church was another early Safe Plus More digital app adopter that has seen marked improvements in its ability to easily disseminate information. They have also found the app to be helpful in enhancing the ways they are of assistance to their parish as well as supporting their efforts of bringing in new members and in general community outreach. 

Outside of Churches, Fire Department, and First Responders, communication is one of the biggest barriers that Asheville Community Enterprises, LLC sees across users and industries who benefit from the Safe Plus More app. A Firefighter attempting to share information with other team members about a crisis call is in the same position as a Substance Use clinician with a large caseload of clients that all need communication around scheduling and educational information. Identifying this communication barrier across social service industries is what continues to inspire the Safe Plus More app in reaching other businesses that would benefit. Being able to be the difference, sometimes in life and death situations is the core motivation behind this digital application. 

The Safe Plus More app’s alert feature is one of the most highly sought-after aspects of this digital product, which is particularly valuable in crisis situations. The Safe Plus More App's Multi-tiered Alert System allows users to create their own preset groups of trusted contacts to be used in case of emergency or in a situation where they need to notify someone they are safe. This works particularly well for individuals in judicial, substance use, or community-based programs aimed at minimizing the burden on our first responders. By identifying and strengthening the community connections around an individual who is in need of more specialized support, the individual is more in control of their treatment. Individuals who have more control of their treatment are more likely to follow through and complete programs, which strengthens their own resolve and the health of the community they live in. This is the core belief that drives Safe Plus More.
